# Defenses

Defenses are specialized assets in *Galaxy Dust Online*, designed to protect **CAN Stations** and **dominated planets/stars**. They are essential for securing your assets and maintaining control over strategic territories.

**Key Characteristics of Defenses**

1. **Deployment**:
   * Can only be equipped to:
     * **CAN Stations**: Safeguard your base and operations.
     * **Dominated Planets/Stars**: Fortify your controlled territories.
2. **Limited Uses**:
   * Defenses have a finite number of uses.
   * Each time a defense loses all its **HP**, one use is consumed.
   * When all uses are depleted, the defense is **burnt**.
3. **Types of Defenses**:
   * **Turrets**: Automated weapon systems.
   * **Shields**: Absorb incoming damage.
   * **Orbital Platforms**: Protect space territories.
   * **Ground Units**: Guard planetary installations.
4. **Attributes**:
   * **Attack Types**: Kinetic, Laser, Plasma, Ionic, Graviton.
   * **Defensive Stats**:
     * **Shield**: Absorbs damage before affecting durability.
     * **Hit Points (HP)**: Represents overall durability.
5. **Rarity**:
   * Ranges from **Common** to **Exclusive**, with higher rarities offering enhanced capabilities.
