Exploration Expeditions are the gateway to uncovering the mysteries of the galaxy in Galaxy Dust Online. They involve sending expedition groups to discover stars, face challenges, and earn valuable rewards. Here's a breakdown of how exploration works:
How to Start an Exploration Expedition
Navigate to the Expedition Menu:
From the main menu, click on Expedition.
Select Exploration Mode:
Choose the Exploration/Domination button.
Choose Your Destination:
Pick the Galaxy Cluster (GC) you wish to explore.
Select the specific Galaxy within the cluster.
Choose the Star Cluster you want to search.
Begin Exploring:
Click Explore, and your expedition group will embark on a journey to discover minable or high-value stars.
Finding Stars
Probability of Discovery:
Each star cluster has its own probability for finding stars.
All players explore the same space and compete to discover the same stars.
Rewards for Exploration
Exploration offers multiple reward opportunities based on achievements and events:
First Global Discoverer Reward:
Awarded to the first player from the entire Galaxy Dust community to arrive at a star.
The Astral Mapping Institute (AMI) provides significant rewards for this achievement.
First Personal Discovery:
When a player discovers a star for the first time by themselves.
AMI grants excellent rewards to encourage individual exploration.
Event Rewards:
Periodic events add exclusive rewards to specific stars, making them highly sought after.
Expedition Rewards:
Standard rewards for completing expeditions, varying by galaxy cluster.
Expedition Travel Event Rewards:
Rewards earned by solving or overcoming challenges during travel, often more valuable than star discoveries.
Expedition Travel Events
Traveling during expeditions can trigger random events that add excitement and challenges:
Battles: Engage in combat against pirates or alien enemies.
NPC Assistance: Help NPCs by providing resources or items.
Special Encounters: These events may yield exceptional rewards, sometimes surpassing the value of finding a star.
Travel Time Mechanics
Travel time adds a layer of strategy to expeditions:
Longer travel times increase exposure to Expedition Travel Events.
Reducing travel time through fleet upgrades, technologies, or consumables can minimize risk and enhance efficiency.
Players must balance the distance traveled with the potential rewards and risks.
Risk of Loss
If your fleet is destroyed during the expedition:
You lose all loot and rewards accumulated during the journey.
Any stars you’ve discovered in that expedition will also be forfeited.
Assets with Low HP:
Assets sent on expeditions with 10% HP or less risk being lost if destroyed.
Lost assets remain in space and can be looted and recovered by other players using QMPs (Quantum Miniaturizer Platforms).
Discovering Stars and Beyond
The primary goal of discovering a star is to set the stage for Domination Expeditions, where you can take control of and farm the star’s resources. Exploration Expeditions are the first step toward securing a dominant position in the Galaxy Dust universe.
